Treatment of rosacea with topical antibiotics may be helpful in preventing rosacea flare ups, according to a small, uncontrolled, study of 17 patients, published in the February 2006 issue of Canadian Journal Dermatology. Researchers randomly assigned 10 patients to receive the antibiotics tetracycline, daptomycin and doxycycline for 16 weeks of treatment to determine its efficacy and safety. Treatment with anti-inflammatory agents in rosacea patients
Rosacea patients can take some anti-inflammatory medications for their painful, inflamed skin.
Anti-inflammatories. This reduction was most apparent in the severely rosacea sites, especially along the cheek and forehead.
